Kids in Green Bay are excited!! The President of the United States, Barack Obama is coming to their school - Southwest High School! As a candidate, Obama chose this region to talk health care at a high school town hall meeting once before, in nearby Kaukauna. He is choosing to push health care in a city that is represented in Congress by a doctor, Steve Kagen.
Kagan's Congressional seat is among the most hotly contested in Wisconsin for next year's election. In recent presidential races, Green Bay has been one of the key battlegrounds in Wisconsin. The state Democratic Party will kick off its annual convention here on Friday. While the two events are not officially connected, the president's visit will be a powerful opening act.
