Donald Driver retires :(
This makes me sad but I am also so happy for Donald. What an amazing football player and human being! He is a great roll model for our young men and I sure hope he can enjoy this time with his family!
Donald Driver, the Green Bay Packers’ all-time leading receiver in receptions and yards and a member of the Super Bowl XLV championship team, will formally announce his retirement on Wednesday, Feb. 6, at 11 a.m., at a public event in the Lambeau Field Atrium.
“I played my entire career in Green Bay and have always enjoyed a special bond with the fans,” said Driver. “I can think of no better way to retire than to celebrate with them and the Packers organization.”

School Delays today!
Click here for the complete list! Yeah, what a great way to start the week, right kids?! My daughter was thrilled to hear last night that she could sleep in this morning by 2 hours! Roads are a little slick and will probably stay that way for a couple more hours, but as the temperature rises, we will be plowing through slush!

Who is America's Favorite Star?
Oooh la la, Denzel Washington has been named America’s Favorite Movie Star in the 2012 Harris Poll. Denzel was at number two in 2011, and held the number one spot in 2008. Coming in at number two is Clint Eastwood, followed by Tom Hanks, Johnny Depp and Brad Pitt. Rounding out the Top Ten are: John Wayne, George Clooney, Harrison Ford, Meryl Streep, and Matt Damon. Only one lady made the top 10?? That is sad but way to go Meryl!!

J.R. to be killed off of Dallas!
Well, we knew it was coming, they had to kill off J.R., it was just a matter of when now that Larry Hagman has passed away. So now the question will be "Who killed J.R."? instead of "Who shot J.R.?"! “We all felt having J.R. die of natural causes would have been completely inappropriate, not only to the character, but also to Larry Hagman,” series executive producer Cynthia Cidre tells TV Guide. The new “Who Killed J.R.?” storyline will air over several episodes this season, which will also feature “one major revelation” in J.R.’s will. “I’m sure a lot’s going to surface that J.R.’s done that none of us ever knew about,” star and close Hagman friendPatrick Duffy tells the magazine. “And that will always bring back the image of Larry Hagman.” Season two of Dallas premieres Monday, January 28th.
Lindsay Lohan on Dancing with the Stars?
Heck no according to Lindsay! She may be desperate for money, but she says not that desperate! Wow, I am surprised by that. She says she does not want to do reality TV and just wants to focus on films...and partying...ok, I added that last part :)
Anyway, here is a pic she posted of herself and Max George, singer with The Wanted proving she has some sort of relationship going on to keep her busy!

Jan. 21, 1998
Today marks a sad event in my family. 15 years ago my younger brother and his girlfriend were killed by a train in Winona during a bad snow storm. It's a day to spend with family and attend an early morning Mass and then brunch with both families. There will be memories shared and lots of hugs. 15 years went by in a flash. Please enjoy your day and hug a sibling if you have one :)

My Video Pick of the Day!
This is just a bizarre video that was uploaded to a recently created YouTube account called “Linda McCartney,” and its content leads some to assume it’s part of an ad campaign for Linda McCartney Foods.
It is a reworked version of “Heart of the Country” off the Paul and Linda McCartney album Ram. Here it is.

What a weekend...
Well, happy Monday to you! If you are a Packer fan, it's a sad start to a week, but as we do every year, we are grateful for what season we had and now can look forward to some great draft picks :)
Did you watch any of the Golden Globes last night? Me neither - LOL! I saw some clips of it on the News this morning and it sounded like the hosts were top notch this year and Adele was probably the best acceptance speech, claiming she peed herself :)
It's hard to believe that January is half over...here we go, getting into 2013 like a speeding bullet! Have a great week!

The dreaded flu!
Boy, I am getting bombarded with information on the flu here at work. The American Red Cross sent out a New Release yesterday urging everyone to get their flu shot now!! I got mine at the beginning of the cold and flu season, so I am set!! Of course they say some of the best ways to avoid the flu are to wash your hands often, especially after coughing or sneezing. Also avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth and avoid close contact with people who are sick. Finally stay home if you are sick!
Then I received an email on finding a flu remedy right in your own cupboard!! Yea, powerful "hot" spices have been used for centuries to knock out a variety of cold weather ailments such as influenza, bronchitis, sinus troubles and even common cold symptoms. Here are some ideas:
Sore Throat: Clove and cinnamon stick tea with raw honey
Intestinal flu and upset stomach: fresh ginger root tea
Colds and congestion: the hottest spice in your cupboard -- thyme, oregano or cumin
Sinus trouble: hot spices that also drain like horseradish and/or oregano
Flu: raw honey with fresh lemon five times daily plus hot organic chicken soup with thyme and oregano
Steam remedy for cold and flu: boil a pot of garlic and onions and breathe; then add to soup and consume!
These all come from Dr. Cass Ingram. He has dozens of books on home remedies out including The Cure is in the Cupboard!

Al Roker pooped his pants at the White House!
Really, he is the one that admitted it and shared his story! The Today weatherman was discussing losing over 100 pounds after gastric bypass surgery, and admitted that he once pooped his pants during a visit to the White House. "When you have a bypass and your bowel has been reconstructed, you think you're pretty safe," he explained. "I probably went off and ate something I wasn't supposed to." Al said he felt the need to pass some gas, and just went for it. "Only a little something extra came out," he admitted. "I pooped my pants. Not horribly, but enough that I knew." Added Al, “So, I was panicking, I got to the restroom of the press room, threw out the underwear and just went commando."
Fun.
I really like this band and enjoy their style of music!! I found a song that didn't make the album but will be featured on the HBO series Girls. Click here to listen to "Sight of the Sun"!

Bull Testicle Beer? REALLY?
Yes indeed, a Colorado brewery has created a limited-run beer flavored with bull testicles for a beer festival and now has decided to offer it year-round. Wynkoop Brewing Company's Rocky Mountain Oyster Stout was originally meant as an April Fools' joke. Check out the video below!
