Happy Halloween!!

Having Halloween on a Monday is kind of a bummer....gotta run home from work and get the candy ready....and the kids will be there right away....right as I am trying to prep dinner!! Oh well, enjoy it and scare the heck out of them all!!

Lady Gaga to wear a dress of Lettuce?

Lady Gaga turned a lot of heads by donning a dress made entirely of meat, and now an animal rights group is asking her to give some equal time to veggies -- by wearing a frock made completely of lettuce.

The folks at the Indiana branch of PETA issued the singer a challenge, saying, "If she agrees, we'll make her a dress entirely of lettuce and held together by pins and threads. It will be a full-length gown, and we'll make sure it looks sexy."

Gaga would have to spend some time on the effort -- it would take about six hours to construct the dress, leaf by leaf, directly on her body.

Halloween Costume Dos and Don'ts!

Before you decide what to wear this year, check out Glamour magazine's Do's and Don'ts for Halloween costumes:
DO:
Save skimpy looks for the bedroom. Lingerie is not a Halloween costume! If big-time flirting is in your plans, try a tastefully seductive costume like a sexy secret agent.
Be creative. Seriously, how many more witches or sexy cats do we need? BO-ring!
Keep it simple. Or you'll spend your whole night trying to explain your random getup. Wear just a fancy mask or oversized sunglasses for an easy, fun look.
Dress up your eyes. Halloween's a perfect excuse to test-drive glamorous makeup.
Use the occasion to bust out an evening gown. Most of us don't get chances to wear black-tie threads. Wear a long, fancy gown and tell everyone you're an Oscar winner.

DON'T:
Dress up as your frenemy. It might be fun imitating your crazy co-worker, but they won't appreciate the joke!
Supersize it. One wrong move in a big, bulky outfit and you could hurt someone!
Use body paint if you're planning to get busy. Skip the full body makeup if you think you might be smooching (or more!). Getting glittery goop all over your guy isn't sexy.

What your Halloween Candy says about You!

This Halloween, as you prepare to hand out piles of candy to a bunch of trick-or-treaters, give some thought to what kind of candy you're going to give out. As it turns out, your candy actually says a lot about the type of person you are.
Sweet Tarts and Skittles -- You're a little wacky and want people to think you're a lot of fun.
Lollipops -- This candy shows everyone that you made no effort this year and just felt like you had to have something in the house in case kids rang your bell.
Tootsie Rolls -- You're plain and simple, yet still awesome after all these years.
Full-Sized Bars -- Giving away big bars of candy is evidence that you're a show-off with a need to impress everybody. (But, that doesn't mean you should stop doing it.)

Halloween Costumes!

Well, it looks like Zombies are getting more of the spotlight this year than vampires, mummies and werewolves combined! Even the CDC is getting in on the act by posting tips on how to survive a zombie apocalypse!  So why are we so fascination with these brain-hungry creatures? Maybe it's our fear of our loved ones suddenly turning on us...or maybe it's a new desire to don ghoulish costumes over sexy ones.

Madonna's brother is homeless.

Madonna's brother Anthony Ciccone is homeless and living under a bridge. The 55-year-old tells the Michigan Messenger, "My family turned their back on me, basically, when I was having a hard time." Anthony had been working at his father's winery, which sells Madonna Wine, until he was fired more than a year ago. Anthony says, "You think I haven't answered this kind of question a bazillion times -- why my sister is a multi-bazillionaire, and I'm homeless on the street? Never say never. This could happen to anybody." He says he collects cans for money and relies on churches for food. Madonna, who has seven siblings, has homes in London, Los Angeles and New York City. Lindsey was 90 minutes early this time!

As part of her new community service assignment, Linds washed dirty linens, scrubbed toilets and cleaned floors at the L.A. County Morgue. TMZ says she felt "terrible" about being late on Thursday so she went to bed early that night and arrived at the morgue at 5:30 a.m. for her 7 a.m. starting time. She even had burgers and gourmet cupcakes delivered to say sorry, but morgue officials reportedly refused the food.

Lindsay's rep said, "It is unfortunate that Lindsay's well-intentioned actions were not taken in the spirit in which she intended; to say she was sorry for yesterday's misunderstanding." Blah Blah!

Sad and sweet!

Who says marriages don't last? A couple married for 72 years died one hour apart in a Des Moines, Iowa hospital last week as they held hands.

94-year-old Gordon Yeagar and his wife, 90-year-old Norma, were critically injured in a car accident last week. At the hospital, nurses kept the couple side-by-side where they held hands.

Gordon died at 3:38 p.m. still holding hands with his wife. As a result, his heartbeat was still showing up on the monitor after he stopped breathing. Norma died exactly an hour later.

Would you hire a Dust Bunny?

In the state of Washington, an entrepreneur is creating jobs, getting houses cleaned and making guys happy all in one swoop.

Her company, Dust Bunnys, sends hottie house cleaners to clients' homes, dressed in lingerie.

"It's not stripping or anything like that," "The lingerie is basically professional lingerie, professional looking girls. It doesn't go any further than that."

She has a team of six girls who are between the ages of 18 and 20. When a client calls, one girl will go to the home and clean, charging by the hour.

Cancer Spotters!

They make us look fabulous by cutting, coloring and styling our hair, but hair stylists and barbers could also serve on the front lines of detecting skin cancers on the scalp, neck and face, a new study suggests.

Researchers surveyed more than 200 stylists and barbers from 17 Houston-area salons and found that while few of them had formal training in detecting cancer, more than half of them already had found a cancerous mole or lesion on customers. They also expressed interest in learning more about how to better detect cancers on their customers’ scalps, faces and necks.
Alan C. Geller, a senior study author says researchers conducted the survey because 10 percent of fatal melanoma is found was on the scalp. They were concerned about the gap between who was diagnosed with melanoma and who died from it, and wanted to see if there was a need for more training among hair dressers. Their findings are released today in the Archives of Dermatology.

“The scalp is not a place that people can easily look at on their own, and we don’t think a lot of physicians are looking for melanoma on the scalp,” says Geller, a senior lecturer at the Harvard University School of Public Health. “Most people make 10 visits or more a year to see their hair dressers and barbers and they tend to look more carefully for mold and legions on the scalp."

Baby Lisa

It's just a very sad story. Is it neglect or really a tragic kidnapping? Mom, Deborah Bradley, recently admitted she was drunk the night of her daughters disappearance in an interview with Fox News, saying that she had several glasses of wine, possibly up to five. She added that it's possible that she blacked out from drinking, but claimed that her drinking had nothing to do with her daughter's disappearance, although she has changed her story, telling investigators she last saw the baby at 6:40pm local time, not the originally reported time of 10:30pm. Dudes don’t drink diet.

Or at least that’s the idea behind Dr Pepper Ten, a 10-calorie soft drink Dr Pepper Snapple Group Inc. is rolling out on Monday with a macho ad campaign that proclaims “It’s not for women.” The soft drink was developed after the company’s research found that men shy away from diet drinks that aren’t perceived as “manly” enough.

To appeal to men, Dr Pepper made its Ten drink 180 degrees different than Diet Dr Pepper. It has calories and sugar unlike its diet counterpart. Instead of the dainty tan bubbles on the diet can, Ten will be wrapped in gunmetal grey packaging with silver bullets. And while Diet Dr Pepper’s marketing is women-friendly, the ad campaign for Ten goes out of its way to eschew women.

Things a guy loves to hear!

According to http://www.yourtango.com/, here are some phrases that men love to hear:
YOU LOOK GREAT! -- Everyone likes to hear they look good, especially if they have been working out!
THAT WOMAN JUST CHECKED YOU OUT! -- This will help his self-confidence! It also shows that you are confident enough to know that he won't be lured away.
YOU'RE RIGHT! -- When he is right, it's nice to tell him, especially if you were arguing. Sure, it's tough to admit defeat, but it will make him feel good and show that you're reasonable.
WILL YOU HELP ME UNSCREW THIS? -- Men like to feel manly. Helping women with simple tasks makes them feel macho and noble!!

PIZZA VENDING MACHINES IN NEW YORK CITY

This might be the best idea ever conceived by mankind ... or the worst.

Entrepreneurs are now putting the finishing touches on pizza vending machines and hope to roll them out onto New York City streets soon.

The machine can make a pie in 90 seconds -- and allows customers to choose between white, cheese and pepperoni pizza.

When the pizza is finished, it's delivered in a box along with a disposable pizza cutter, napkin and two spices.

Hank is officially done with Monday Night Football!

ESPN has officially separated from Hank Williams Junior after the country star received a ton of negative press for seemingly comparing President Obama to Hitler. A statement at ESPN Media Zone says, "We have decided to part ways with Hank Williams, Junior. We appreciate his contributions over the past years. The success of Monday Night Football has always been about the games, and that will continue."

Hank tried to spin that it was his call, telling The Associated Press, "After reading hundreds of e-mails, I have made MY decision. By pulling my opening October 3rd, you [ESPN] stepped on the Toes of The First Amendment Freedom of Speech, so therefore Me, My Song, and All My Rowdy Friends are OUT OF HERE. It's been a great run." --Tammy Ragusa and Craig Rosen

Flirting Tips from Guys!!

If you are on the market for a new man, and want to improve your flirting skills, here are some tips from guys on how to maximize your flirt:

Smile a lot: According to men, a pleasant, happy face is incredibly attractive and appealin

Look into his eyes: Maintain eye contact while you are talking -- it lets him know you are interested in what he is saying.

Sound interested, but don't overdo it: Listen attentively and ask pertinent questions, but don't fawn all over a guy or act like his number one fan -- it can be too overwhelming.

Use the right body language: Casual, confident touches can be a wonderful flirting tool. Just don't touch too much -- everything in moderation. Don't close yourself off, either, by crossing your arms or wringing your hands -- you don't want to appear stand-offish or nervous. (HealthyAndBeloved)

Just Asking ... What are your tried and true flirting techniques? Guys -- what moves are a total turn-off?

Steve Jobs passes away.

A day after Apple introduced their latest iPhone, Steve Jobs, the company's charismatic co-founder and visionary, died yesterday at age 56.

Apple said in a statement, "Steve's brilliance, passion and energy were the source of countless innovations that enrich and improve all of our lives. The world is immeasurably better because of Steve."

His family said in a separate statement that he "died peacefully today surrounded by his family...We know many of you will mourn with us, and we ask that you respect our privacy during our time of grief."

During his career, Jobs not only changed the personal computer, but headed Apple during the introduction of such game-changers as the iPod, the iTunes music store, the iPhone and iPad.

Despite his early success at Apple that made him a multi-millionaire at 25, he was ousted from the company at age 30. Before rejoining Apple in 1997, he started NeXT computers and bought LucasFilm's computer graphics division, which eventually became Pixar Animation Studios and went on to produce several hit films, including Toy Story.

Jobs had been ill with pancreatic cancer since at least 2004, when he showed a dramatic weight loss, and in 2009 he took a six months medical leave and had a liver transplant. He took another medical leave earlier this year, before announcing he was stepping down as Apple's chief in August.

He is survived by his wife, Laurene, and four children.

FOX is asking the staff to take a 45 percent cut in salary, but when the voice talent countered with a 30 percent cut they were shot down. An insider tells The Daily Beast, "FOX is taking the position that unless they can cut the production costs really drastically, they'll pull the plug on new shows." The show is in its 23rd season.

Country star Hank Williams Jr. spent Monday afternoon in damage-control mode, backtracking from statements he made that morning in which he compared President Obama to reviled Nazi leader Adolf Hitler. The comments got Williams' traditional "Monday Night Football" opening song, with its famous "Are you ready for some football?" refrain, yanked from the night's Indianapolis/Tampa Bay game.

"Some of us have strong opinions and are often misunderstood," Williams said in a statement released Monday afternoon. "My analogy was extreme — but it was to make a point."

On Monday morning, Williams appeared on Fox News and referred to Republican Speaker of the House John Boehner's June golf outing with Obama as one of the "biggest political mistakes ever" by the Ohio politician.

"It's like Hitler playing golf with [Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin] Netanyahu," the country singer said of the bipartisan golf game. The hosts of the conservative network's "Fox & Friends" morning program seemed surprised by the comment, with co-anchor Gretchen Carlson asking Williams to clarify what he meant by the inflammatory statement, saying, "You used the name of one of the most-hated people in all the world to describe, I think, the president."

Williams responded, "That's true ... but I'm telling you like it is."

In his follow-up statement, posted on his website, Williams explained his sentiments on the Obama/Boehner pairing: "I was simply trying to explain how stupid it seemed to me — how ludicrous that pairing was. They're polar opposites, and it made no sense," he said. "They don't see eye-to-eye and never will. I have always respected the office of the President."

ESPN announced that it was dropping Williams' theme song from Monday night's program but didn't say whether it would re-appear at a later date. "While Hank Williams Jr. is not an ESPN employee, we recognize that he is closely linked to our company through the open to 'Monday Night Football,' " the network said in a statement. "We are extremely disappointed with his comments, and as a result, we have decided to pull the open from tonight's telecast."
