IT'S FRIDAY!!!

There is something about being able to YELL that at you!! It makes me feel so good. There is a lot going on over the holiday weekend and the weather looks like it will break on Monday as well!

I have my youngest Grand daughters Baptism this Sunday, so am excited to see little Emma...oh, and her parents too :)

It also is the La Crosse Bicycle Festival today through Monday and I am hoping to get on the road Monday for the featured ride with some co-workers! And the Downtown Sound Music Fest both Saturday and Sunday afternoon will be on Pearl Street with music on a bicycle powered stage!

Enjoy the weekend no matter what it is you decide to do!

I do not want to miss a work out due to the heat and I am not a fan of the treadmill, so I head to the state park near my house! Not only does it provide a lot of shade, but the views are amazing!!

It's true, the days of camping out to reserve your spot for the Oktoberfest parade could soon be over! La Crosse is considering setting aside certain areas of public property for parade viewing and then selling permits so people can reserve the spots. What do you think of that? He also says that since North was born he has become a brand new person and that his only goal is to protect her!

It does not surprise me that this type of event is finally in America and it's happening this weekend!

The Weekend!

Boy, what a great weekend for the Brague family!! We Celebrated our oldest grand daughters 9th Birthday on Saturday. Have you heard of Monster High? That's the new craze now, so that was the theme and here are some pictures of the treats and gifts!! 

Now on Sunday we had some friends come out and help lay tile in our new basement bathroom!! Excited about how that project is progressing!!

Rabbits that glow in the dark!

Researchers based in Hawaii and Turkey produced a litter of eight rabbits, two of which glow green in the dark. Scientists have cloned a colony of rabbits that glow bright green in the dark, in an attempt to advance research into treatments for life-threatening illnesses. I guess they are like an LED light! Scientists say the animals are not affected by the fluorescent protein and will have the same life span as other rabbits. Check out the video for more details!

The Hyperloop Transport

A billionaire in California wants to build the Hyperloop Transport, a solar-powered network of crash-proof capsules that would whisk people from San Francisco to Los Angeles in half an hour. How can he say crash-proof?? What if something happened to the tubes and one gets dented?? SLAM and then a tube is stuck...how do they get it unstuck or out of the tube then? It just seems to good to be true!

Elon Musk is the owner of Tesla Motors and the money behind the idea.

The Hyperloop, which Musk previously described as a cross between a Concorde, rail gun and air-hockey table, would cost an estimated $6 billion to build and construction would take 7 to 10 years. Eventually, according to the plan, it would jettison more than 7 million people a year along one of the U.S. West Coast's busiest traffic corridors.

As many as 28 passengers could ride in each pod and the system could even transport vehicles, according to the 57-page design plan.

Musk, who in the past has hinted at the hopes of building such a system, proposed the Hyperloop as an alternative to a $68 billion high-speed rail project that's a major priority of California Governor Jerry Brown. It would be safer, faster, less expensive and more convenient, Musk said in the blog post. More on the story can be read here!

HTC is kicking off their largest-ever marketing campaign with Robert Downey Jr. as the new face of HTC. He has signed a two year deal with HTC and they stated he will inject his own style. Dang, I LOVE his style and will do anything he tells me :)

Would you eat a Test Tube Burger??

After years of research, finally someone got to taste burger made in a lab not on a farm! They used stem cells in a culture dish and cooked it up in front of reporters and was taste-tested by Chicago-based author and food writer Josh Schonwald and Austrian food researcher Hanni Rutzler.

They were pleasantly surprised by how juicy it was but the first comment was that it wasn't unpleasant!!

Is this what we are going to? Food created in culture dishes?? Yikes, I like my garden fresh tomatoes and peppers....and deer from the backyard :)

"There is quite some intense flavor," Rutzler said, although she added that it needed seasoning. "The look was quite similar to meat. It has quite a bite."
She added: "The surface of the meat was crunchy — surprisingly. The taste itself was as juicy as meat can be, but different. It tastes like meat, not a meat substitute like soya or whatever."

I would like to compare it to venison, which is a staple in our household!! They claim there are no natural fats in this meat, so I bet it is a little gamey compared to farm fed beef!

Minnesota's 4-year-old Mayor - again!

Robert "Bobby" Tufts hasn't made it to preschool yet, but he's already been elected two times as mayor of a tiny tourist town in northern Minnesota. Mayor Tufts' name was picked Sunday during annual Taste of Dorset festival to be mayor of Dorset for a second term. It has no formal city government and has a population of 22 to 28, depending on whether the minister and his family are in town. Too cute, check out the video here!
