Former congressman, Anthony Weiner is now running for New York City Mayor and is back in the news with more sex scandal allegations. He admitted to engaging in sexting with a woman he met online following his resignation from Congress. REALLY? But his wife is standing by his side. They have been through therapy and she has forgiven him. (She doesn't look too happy in the picture though!) They are moving forward and he is now hoping to become the new Mayor of New York City. Glad I do not live there and have to listen to that all the time....it's gonna be a long race!

Woman killed on Roller Coaster

I love roller coasters and do understand that there is some danger in riding them. This story is just like a nightmare coming to life. It was the first time Rosy Esparza had ever visited the park and she was riding next to her son. She shared some concerns with the ride attendant that she felt her safety belt had not clicked or was not secure. She was reassured she would be fine. Here is the complete story.

Rolling Stone Magazine!

The new issue of Rolling Stone magazine has caused some controversy because of the cover pic! Dzhohkar Tsarnaev, the suspect in the Boston Marathon bombing is the featured photo. CVS and Walgreens both issued statements that they will not be carrying this issue.

Boston Mayor Thomas M. Menino said in a letter to Jann Wenner, publisher of the magazine, that the cover for the Aug. 3 issue “rewards a terrorist with celebrity treatment. It is ill-conceived, at best, and re-affirms a terrible message that destruction gains fame for killers and their ‘causes.’”

It's almost like they are treating him like a Rock Star. Check out the article here!

It smells like death, hence the name, The Corpse Flower and it is now in bloom at the U.S. Botanic Garden! It really smells like rotting flesh....nice :)

We lost a very special young lady.

I first learned about her story on Ellen and was so impressed with her spirit and personality, that I fell in love with her. Such a sweet girl that fought so hard to battle 2 cancers and inspire other young teens. She became a YouTube sensation with her make up tips and then became a star on Ellen and with CoverGirl. Please remember to use caution if you are outside alot today and tomorrow!! The Red Cross has a lot of great tips on staying healthy if you have to be out in the heat!

NEVER LEAVE CHILDREN, PETS IN THE CAR, the inside temperature of the car can quickly reach 120 degrees. Other heat safety steps include:

Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of fluids. Avoid drinks with caffeine or alcohol.

Avoid extreme temperature changes.

Wear loose-fitting, lightweight, light-colored clothing. Avoid dark colors because they absorb the sun’s rays.

Slow down, stay indoors and avoid strenuous exercise during the hottest part of the day.

Postpone outdoor games and activities.

Use a buddy system when working in excessive heat. Take frequent breaks if working outdoors.

Check on family, friends and neighbors who do not have air conditioning, who spend much of their time alone or who are more likely to be affected by the heat.

Check on animals frequently to ensure that they are not suffering from the heat. Make sure they have plenty of shade and cool water.

If someone doesn’t have air conditioning, they should choose places to go to for relief from the heat during the warmest part of the day (schools, libraries, theaters, malls).

GLEE'S Cory Monteith dead at 31!

This is such sad news out of Hollywood, Glee Star Cory Monteith was found dead Saturday in his room at the Fairmont Pacific Rim Hotel in Vancouver, BC. He had hung out with friends Friday night but cam eback to his room alone early Saturday morning. When he didn't check out of the hotel as planned on Saturday, staffers at the hotel went to his room and found him dead. He did struggle with drug addiction in the past and had spent time in rehab this past March. An autopsy is expected to be performed today and I will fill you in on any details found!

6 year old trapped in a sand dune!

The good news is he was rescued and is alive! He survived buried in a sand dune for over 3 hours and was very lucky that he was trapped in an air pocked. There is a video showing some of the recue efforts. As they dug him out he seemed to slip deeper and deeper into the hole.

The Twinkie is back!!

Some stores were naughty and brought them back last Friday! I do have to admit, it was one of my favorite treats as a kid. My Grandma Brague would bring a box of them everytime she visited!! Learn more about their re-release here!

Steve Martin is also pretty lucky! He had lost his wallet during a bike ride on a Pennsylvania street. Will Beekman, programming director at the concert hall where Martin performed, says a man working on a city street found the wallet and he knew Martin’s bluegrass show was in town, so he contacted the concert hall to say he’d found it.

Beekman says Martin insisted on thanking the man in person, but he wasn’t sure whether the man got a reward. The wallet had Martin’s driver’s license and credit cards but no cash.

American Idol Ruben Studdard to Lose Big!

This is a good loss for Ruben. He won the 2nd Season of American Idol, but has been struggling with his weight for years. He bears the nickname of The Velvet Teddy Bear and did lose 100 pounds years ago with the help of a weight management team and by becoming a vegetarian, but has gained most of that back. He will try again by competing in the 15th season of The Biggest Loser! How do you think he will do? I wish him the best!

Who is the Pirate Hooker??

The "Pirate Hooker" is Taylor Swift according to members of the Topeka, KS Westboro Baptist Church. They are planning to protest Taylor's Aug. 3rd concert in Kansas City as they believe she is a serial dater and have called her a "dirty, pirate hooker." In a series of tweets, from an obviously mathematically-challenged church representative, they wrote: "Taylor Swift in three words: lascivious, foolish, proud, dirty, pirate hooker!". WOW, I am sure we will hear more on August 3rd!
