Way to go USA!!

Putting on a show when he hardly needed to, White capped his sensational night on the halfpipe with his signature move Wednesday -- the dangerous, spiraling Double McTwist 1260 during a victory lap that will go down as nothing short of epic. "I wanted a victory lap that would be remembered," White said. "I achieved that." The redheaded shredder scored a 48.4 on the final run, even though he was already assured of defending his Olympic title with a score of 46.8 on his first trip. Getting ready to close the night, he debated with his coaches for a minute, then made the decision. Showtime! To the delight of cheering fans, he jerked his body around to milk the last half of the 3 1/2 twists he crams into two head-over-heels flips. Congratulations!

Will John Mayer be forgiven?

I think it's what our society does best to those that are 'hip', 'cool', someone we idolize. John Mayer made some racially charged comments and after the quick hit buzz in the news and online, most have forgiven. Is that right? Read the story here!

Couch to couch across the country!

In the past year, Josh Sullivan has slept on couches, air mattresses, recliners and floors, but rarely a bed. The 28-year-old couch surfer extraordinaire recently came home to St. Petersburg from a yearlong journey around the country where he spent each week in another person's home. Sullivan stayed with old friends, friends of friends, parents of friends and complete strangers. He called the trip "52 friends" for the friendships he made each week. He never knew where he'd end up more than two or three weeks in advance — he just caught a Greyhound bus or rode with a friend to wherever he was offered a place to stay. Read the whole story here!

A Twitter Collar for your Dog?!

Mattel's Puppy Tweet is for the pet & gadget lover. Every time your pooch moves, barks or growls, the collar sends a pre-programmed tweet. Sadly, it won't actually tell you whether your dog is on the couch, needs to be let out or making an entree out of your Redwing boots — each tweet is chosen at random from a selection of 500 options, including "I bark because I miss you — there, now hurry home" and "I finally caught that tail I've been chasing and....OOUUUCCHHH!" Your dog has to be within a reasonable distance of the room with your computer in it, though; the tweets are sent wirelessly from the collar to a USB receiver that has to be plugged into a supported Internet-connected device. Presidents Day? What does it mean?

The day was originally designated as Washington's Birthday and the federal holiday was originally implemented by the United States Congress in 1880 for government offices D.C. and expanded in 1885 to include all federal offices. Say "NO" to the Performance Tax!!

For more than 80 years, radio and the recording industry have enjoyed a mutually beneficial relationship: free play for free promotion. And it works. It’s a relationship that has sustained businesses on both sides.

In fact, radio’s free promotion of artists translates to as much as $2.4 billion annually in music sales for record labels and artists. And this doesn’t even include the enormous revenues they receive from concerts and merchandising.

But the labels–like many businesses–are struggling in this economy. They have failed to adapt to the digital age, and find their business model is broken. And now they want to impose a fee called a performance tax on local radio stations to subsidize their losses.

Please speak out on the Bill, our members of Congress need to hear that you strongly oppose these bills!!

Have you dated a co-worker?

CareerBuilder.com did a recent survey regarding dating at the office. Out of the 5200 people they talked with, 40% say they have had a relationship with a co-worker. Whoa, that's higher than I expected! How do those relationships begin? Lunch, working late, maybe hitting happy hour after work, going on the business trip and even that company holiday party can create the spark! 67% try to keep that relationship secret...hmmmm. What to NOT PUT on your Resume!!

Sara Sutton Fell, CEO of FlexJobs.com, was hiring for an entry-level job, one particular résumé stood out from all the others. The reason? The applicant claimed to be a "Pig Wrestling Champion" and included details like weight of the pig, number of competitors and months of training. "When candidates put things on their résumés that are completely irrelevant to the job position, you have to question their judgment,"! Here are somethings that are appropriate for your resume:
Interests that show you're an interesting person -- hobbies, passions, musical instruments you play, etc. -- show a dynamic that brings you to life.

Scholastic achievements and high GPAs. Everyone wants smart people; if you've got proof you're one of them, serve it up.

Interesting jobs you did as a young person. These show you're not afraid of hard work and you're adaptable.

While these are areas that may cause harm:

Big gaps in employment history with no explanation. You're begging questions that will only keep suspicions high. Full disclosure, always.

Missing information. Remember Watergate -- it's not the crime, it's the cover-up that gets you in trouble.

Pessimism. Don't be negative in your job descriptions-- no matter how bad the job or your boss was. It raises flags to potential employers that you're a gripe

Spelling and grammatical errors. Whatever you do, proofread, proofread, proofread and then proofread again your résumé. A typo or bad grammar is completely unacceptable. And please, don't have exclamation points!!! Résumés are no place for forced drama.

Narcissism. Have a little humility. While a résumé is a good place to present yourself in the best possible light, it does not excuse you from coming off so strong people will think you're an egomaniacal blowhard.

Well?? Ellen on Idol!!

Ok, this is my opinion today....I liked Ellen as a judge! I think you have to be a fan of Ellen and her humor and well, I am! She was funny and direct. They did not show alot of her interacting with Simon, so I cannot judge that relationship yet, but she did a good job. I am dissappointed with Idol as they are not showing enough singing in my book, they focus too much on stories...I want to hear them sing...not just a few hand picked contestants....we shall see how the groups perform tonight!

Valentine's Day with Fido?!

Hey, one fifth of adults in a recent global survey say they would rather spend Valentine's Day with their pet then their partner...huh? The survey of 24,000 people in 23 countries found 21% of adults would rather spend February 14 with their pet than their spouse, although the French were least likely to choose a furry friend over a human with only 10% taking that option. Not sure what that's all about, as I am banking on a dinner out, maybe a movie and well, who knows...and it does not include "Butterscotch" at all....he will be curled up in the laundry room lovin' his own space! Here are more details on the survey!

It was an entertaining night on American Idol, but nothing is really great this year. More Idol tonight at 8pm on Fox.

Ok, this is just weird but really fun!

Elton John and his partner now to producing a play!

The pair, who between them have been behind some of Broadway's most successful shows, will bring Next Fall, a play by Geoffrey Nauffts, to the New York stage next month.

John previously penned the music to The Lion King and Billy Elliot: The Musical, which opened in New York in 2008 after four years in London. Furnish worked as an executive producer on the latter, which was nominated at the Tony awards for best score.

They will now finance and put their names to Next Fall, which examines the relationship between two gay men and the difficulties they encounter due to their religious beliefs. Interesting....

The play enjoyed success during a series of performances off Broadway last summer. Click here to learn more!
