Roman Emperor Nero had a rotating banquet hall?!

He lived a lavish lifestyle and loved to impress his guests! I bet he was able to do that with this contraption that they recently discovered in Rome. The purported main dining room, with a diameter of over 50 feet , rested upon a 13-foot wide pillar and four spherical mechanisms that, likely powered by a constant flow of water, rotated the structure. Very cool, read more here.

Asassination Poll on Facebook? What next?

Come on people. Why ruin a good thing? Facebook has been a great way for many to reconnect, and then you have people who misuse it. Putting up a poll on whether the President should be asassinated? Get real...yes, the application has been polled, thank goodness. The possible responses to the poll were "yes," "maybe," "if he cuts my health care" and "no." I am sure the excuse will be that it was just a joke...not funny...click here for details!

Polanski needs to come back and serve his time!

I guess he got a little cocky and traveled into Switzerland....we can have him extradited and are trying but of course, he is fighting it. Investigators in the United States say Polanski drugged and raped a 13-year-old girl in the 1970s. He pleaded guilty in 1977 to having unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor, but he fled the United States before he could be sentenced. He settled in France. U.S. authorities have had a warrant for his arrest since 1978. Police in Switzerland arrested Polanski on that warrant Saturday after the 76-year-old tried to enter Switzerland to attend the Zurich Film Festival, which is holding a tribute to Polanski this year. Yeah, we have a tribute planned for him here, but not the kind he was hoping for....read the details here.

"Time of my Life", Patrick Swayze's audio book is out today.

The book is narrated by Patrick and his wife. In it Patrick recalls how he fell into a state of "anger, bitterness and despair" after learning he only had a few months to live. Also in the book, he recalls some career highlights like the pottery-making scene with Demi Moore in Ghost. Swayze says, "We really made up the scene as we went along. It was pretty sexy playing in all that clay, so all we had to do was go with it...She was very warm, much warmer than she'd been in the other scenes we'd been in together." Click here for more.

Obama on Letterman!

After reading about the interview Letterman had with President Obama, I wish I would have taken the time to watch it. Lot's of laughs and fun. David asked, "Was Jimmy Carter onto something ... was this unease or poor decorum rooted in racism, or is that just something to talk about?" Obama replied, "First of all, I think it's important to realize that I was actually black before the election". Letterman quipped: "How long have you been a black man?" Obama said, "So the American people, I think, gave me this extraordinary honor. That tells you a lot, I think, a lot about where the country is at." Why did the President agree to come on and be apart of Letterman's show: Among Letterman's theories: Obama said yes without thinking about it, or as Letterman put it, "Like Bush did with Iraq." But Obama had other ideas. It turns out he was listening when Letterman had bantered with a woman in the audience who brought a potato in the shape of a heart to the show. Obama told Letterman: "The main reason I'm here? I want to see that heart-shaped potato."!! Too funny!! Click here for more.

Dirty Dancing, Ghost...we will miss him!

He was a romantic idol to many and suffered during his battle with pancreatic cancer. He lost that battle yesterday at the young age of 57. Most recently, Swayze starred in A&E network's "The Beast," and he agreed to take the starring role of an undercover FBI agent before his diagnosis. The network agreed to shoot an entire season of the show after Swayze responded well to cancer treatment.
